As a B2B company, our client specializes in granting and managing home mortgage loans on behalf of various lenders.

To support the growth, we are looking for an IT Software tester -- IT Software Testing Department (M/F) for our headquarters in Roeselare.

Your new role

- Sets up test scenarios and performs software testing,

- Sets up training sessions for end users and provides support,

- Takes care of software installations,

- Participates in functional analysis as well as analysis of bugs - and/or batch follow-ups in order to provide adequate computing applications.

Each assignment must be carried out:

- In close cooperation with the end users and other IT staff involved (internal and external),

- With respect to existing procedures (documentation, communication, etc.),

- With an eye on "quality", i.e. obtaining the most efficient application possible (performant, user-friendly, manageable, maintainable, ...),

- With consideration of budgetary constraints.

Main tasks

- Testing the software

o Reads the RFEs, checks if they meet the needs of the users, studies various functionals solutions together with colleagues from the relevant domains and prepares scripts in order to retrieve the necessary data in the database necessary to run the test scenarios

o Collaborates on functional analyzes by checking the completeness of the analyzes in preparing adequate test scenarios. This requires extensive knowledge of various functional areas of relevant IT applications

o Prepares test scenarios starting from the analyzes for the integration tests of new functionalities for the regression tests of existing functionality in order to check whether the developed application or the purchased package meets the initially set needs, also takes care of the development of test scenarios as well as test data used by external parties. Check new/existing system parameters & task configuration and adjust them in consultation with the person in charge if necessary.

o Performs integration and regression tests on the delivered new developments. If necessary, moves to external software suppliers to perform/follow up on tests for delivery and communicate the quality evolution to the IT department & third parties

o Investigates and analyses bugs, this requires basic knowledge of database structure as well as technical database tools in addition to functional knowledge

o Organises test sessions with end users of internal & external services

o Follows up on bug reports, sets priorities in consultation with the IT coordinator, taking into account planned P-weekends

o If necessary, provides additional explanations on the bug reports to the analysts/developers (both internal and external), notifies the user of new deliveries in PRD and explains the novelties/adaptations

o Sets up adequate training and provides training to end users in both national languages

o Prepares user manuals in both national languages

o Participates in the realization phase during scheduled P-weekends.

- Production support

o Researches and analyses user-reported functional errors of internal & external services, prepares documented bug reports if necessary, or proposes solutions/extensions to the IT coordinator in existing programmes/analysis

o Follows up bug reports from batch chains

o Follows up projects from the detail analysis and/or development phase as well as the implementation, delivery, putting into production of the functional analysis in consultation with his responsible

- Software Installation Desk

o Ensures the administration of the delivered bugs

Follows up the status of the bugs on the basis of prepared lists

o Arranges the implementation of hotfixes in consultation with the (internal/external) party delivering the hotfix

Ensures that hotfixes are ready for installation in the various environments

o Helps determine whether or not the hotfix can be installed in a particular environment

- Continuous batch monitoring

o Follows up the various batch chains and procedures in the test environments and pays the necessary attention to performance, quality, availability of the environment

o Evaluates the execution of the different batch chains (quality control) and investigates any errors, possibly with the assistance of other IT colleagues

o Adjust the batch chains and procedures where necessary in order to make the application available to the end users in the right situation and on time

Your profile

- You have a Master of Science or Bachelor's degree with an affinity towards IT or equivalent through experience

- You have at least 2 years of relevant experience in an IT organization with internal and external customers

- You quickly understand how business processes and IT processes work

- You preferably have knowledge and experience of IT applications

- You have a good knowledge of mortgage lending processes, knowledge of processes for consumer loans or professional loans are an important asset.

- You have analytical skills, good communication skills and a desire to learn continuously

- You are a good listener

- You can work independently and autonomously

- You are creative and critical

- You can express yourself fluently in Dutch and French. A good knowledge of English is an asset

- You are familiar with MS Office tools

- Knowledge of SQL scripting is an asset
