GL Accountant

Temporary role | Freelance OK | GL Accountant | Plus & play role | Start ASAP
For one of our clients, Hays is looking for a temporary/freelance General Ledger Accountant to help them strengthen their finance team for 3 months.

What you'll be doing:
  • Support and act as a backup for the Financial Controller.
  • Assist in integrating new affiliated practices into their financial systems.
  • Collaborate with the Shared Service Center team to manage monthly and annual closing processes, including reconciliations of income statements and balance sheets.
  • Ensure compliance with fiscal obligations such as VAT declarations, corporate tax filings, annual accounts, and Board reports.
  • Aid local practices in enhancing their financial processes.
  • Travel to various practices as needed.
What we're looking for:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field.
  • Relevant experience in an accounting firm or an end-to-end accounting department.
  • Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting regulations and tax laws.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, pragmatic, and service-minded.
  • Proficiency in IT, especially with Excel and ERP systems.
  • Fluent in Dutch or French and English, knowledge of the second language is an advantage.
