Your new role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Transport Planner to coordinate and optimize all cartage operations within the district. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless execution of pickup, delivery, and appointment scheduling for import, domestic, and export shipments. Working closely with warehouse teams and service providers, you will drive operational efficiency, maintain excellent customer service standards, and support business growth through effective cost control and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Manage centralized dispatch for all products within the branch, coordinating pickups, deliveries, and schedules.
Monitor and track shipments closely, providing proactive updates and resolving issues swiftly.
Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to meet KPIs and maintain high-quality service levels.
Liaise between product teams and cartage providers to ensure seamless operations.
Prepare and present regular operational reports to management, including performance metrics and financial data.
Oversee cost control measures, including accessorial charge documentation and rate audits.
Lead exception management and root cause analysis of service failures, implementing corrective actions.
Support fleet operations by optimising equipment and driver utilisation alongside service providers.
Serve as the escalation point for operational challenges, driving resolutions with integrity and professionalism.
Your profile
Proven experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or cartage operations.
Strong organisational and communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
Ability to multitask, manage exceptions, and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical mindset with a focus on cost control and process optimisation.
Collaborative team player who can liaise effectively across multiple stakeholders.
