Hays is supporting an international leader in the insurance sector in the search for an IAM Engineer. This organization employs several thousand people across Belgium and works closely with a wide broker and customer network. The company promotes a collaborative and inclusive culture, with strong expertise hubs in IT and security.
Within the broader Information Security department, you will join a small engineering team of around 5 specialists focusing on Identity and Access Management implementations and integrations and application security. The environment is mature, structured, and driven by long-term security strategy and risk management, where engineers work closely with IAM experts to translate strategy into concrete technical solutions.

Your new role
As an IAM Engineer, you are responsible for implementing and optimizing Identity and Access Management solutions across the IT landscape. You act as a technical counterpart to the IAM experts, translating their analyses and recommendations into practical implementations. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on configuration, automation, and integration.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Implementing IAM solutions based on defined strategies and risk analyses
  • Developing and maintaining integrations between identity platforms and applications
  • Automating onboarding processes and identity workflows to improve efficiency
  • Configuring and managing Identity Providers (IdPs) and access management tools
  • Supporting cloud-based implementations (e.g. AWS, Azure) with a focus on security
  • Collaborating closely with architects, experts, and application teams to ensure proper implementation
  • Troubleshooting IAM-related issues (authentication flows, connectivity, configurations)
  • Ensuring consistency and lifecycle management across identity and access systems
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of IAM processes and technical setup

Your profile

You bring a solid technical background in IAM engineering or a related field, and you are comfortable working in environments where you combine development, configuration, and operational responsibilities.
Key requirements:
  • Languages: fluent English is required, with a good knowledge of French and/or Dutch
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in IAM engineering, DevOps, or application security
  • Hands-on experience with IAM concepts
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with scripting or programming (Java, Python) is a strong plus
  • Experience with automation, integrations, and identity workflows
  • Understanding of infrastructure components such as proxies and load balancing is an asset
  • You are pragmatic, solution-oriented, and able to translate functional needs into technical implementations
